Moisture/Matic Deluxe ModelAccurate Grain Drying Made Simple with Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic
If you are like most farmers who have continuous-flow grain dryers, you have always wanted a dryer control which would automatically adjust roller speed for the fluctuating grain moisture.

Now you can have such a control with DMC's Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic grain drying control.*

Calc-U-Dri was introduced in 1986 as a grain drying control for in-bin, continuous flow systems. Farmers with out-of-bin continuous flow dryers asked for a similar grain drying control for their dryers. DMC engineers went to work and developed the Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic.

*The Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic is patented. Patent No. 4916830 and 5144755

Models available to meet everyone's needs
DMC's Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic has four models from which to choose.
• Standard Model: As shown in the photo below.Moisture/Matic Standard Model

Works with all continuous flow dryers - with or without SCR drive.
Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic works with continuous flow dryers with SCR drives. For dryers without SCR drives, it is necessary to use an inverter to drive the metering roll motor* along with the Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic.Dryer without SCR drive
* Single phase dryers require changing to a three phase drive motor.

Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic
pays for itself

Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic will upgrade your continuous flow dryer control to the most modern, up-to-date system available. This system has the capability to increase dryer capacity, save money by not overdrying grain like you used to do (thus saving fuel) and by having less grain shrinkage. Here's how it works:
After connecting the Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic to your dryer, simply...

Dryer1. Adjust the potentiometer on the Moisture/Matic the same as you did on your dryer.
2. Dial in the desired moisture to come out of the dryer.

It's basically that simple.

As grain moisture increases above the desired moisture (as determined by the operator), the metering roll speed slows to allow the grain to dry further. As grain moisture falls below the desired moisture, the metering rolls speed up to cut down the drying time.

The Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic works 24 hours per day, adjusting your grain dryer to the grain being dried.

Component definitions
The following descriptions are of the Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic (as shown above).
Liquid Crystal Display shows these three things:
       1. Grain Moisture
       2. Grain Temperature
       3. Moisture Limit (set point)
Moisture Limit Adjustment Knob: Turn this knob to change moisture limit (set point)
Moisture Offset: Use to adjust moisture readout for grains other than corn, and use to calibrate to another moisture tester if desired.
Push to read Temperature Button: Push this button and grain temperature is shown on the Liquid Crystal Display.
Push to set Moisture Limit Button: Push this button and turn the Moisture Limit Adjustment Knob to change the moisture limit (set point).
D.C. Volt Meter: Measures the D.C. voltage going to the D.C. metering roll motor.
Main Speed Control: This adjustable control varies the speed of the D.C. metering roll motor. When connected, this control replaces the variable control on the dryer.
High Speed/Low Speed Light: These lights indicate when D.C. variable speed motor is in its high speed or low speed.
Auto/Monitor Switch: In automatic, the Calc-U-Dri controls the speed of the metering rolls. In manual, the Calc-U-Dri merely serves as a monitor to the grain being discharged.
2 AMP Fuse: Fuse Protection for the Calc-U-Dri.
Control Power Light: Lights up when power is to the Calc-U-Dri.
On/Off Switch: Flip up for power on, or down for power off.
Printer: For a detailed analysis for the drying operation. Displays the following information: (see below for sample printer readout)
        a. Date
        b. Moisture Limit
        c. Bin Number
        d. Relative Humidity
        e. Moisture Offset
        f. Plenum Temperature
        g. Time of Moisture Samples
        h. Machine Status - i.e. automatic or monitor
        i. Grain Moisture
        j. Grain Temperature
        k. Ambient Temperature
        l. Average Grain Moisture

Printer provides information for detailed analysis
Use DMC's Calc-U-Dri Printer to gather as much information as possible about your grain drying system. The printer records all the important data necessary to make those critical evaluations of your grain drying system. Plus you have all the information needed to calculate at what moisture your grain will stabilize once it has completely cooled.

Special model for rice farmers
Rice DryerRice farmers face a special situation in drying rice. Since rice cannot become too hot during the drying process, there is a model of the Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic that has a temperature override protection.

If the temperature of the rice is below 100 degrees, this Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic works the same as other Moisture/Matic's, i.e. the operator dials in a desired moisture level to which the rice is to be dried and the Calc-U-Dri slows or speeds up the metering rolls depending on the moisture of the rice.

When the temperature of the rice reaches 100 degrees, the Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic automatically overrides its moisture control and unloads the drier at high speed until the temperature of the rice falls below 100 degrees. The moisture control function again takes over drying the rice to the desired moisture control.

When the application is for rice, make sure to request the Calc-U-Dri Moisture/Matic with temperature override for rice.
